Many descendants of Kudara had immigrated to Japan, bringing technologies and cultural advances with them. During 6th to 7th centuries, the Korean peninsula was divided into three countries, Baekje, Silla and Goguryeo. In China, Sui Dynasty, founded in 581, had a territorial ambition in Korean Peninsula, attempting three major invasions of Goguryeo in vain. After replacing Sui in 618, Tang Dynasty had repeatedly intervened in the affairs in Korea. To benefit from this new situation, Silla allied with Tang and defeated Goguryeo and Baekje.
