spoiler A film noir that comments on socialism. In the dark caves of one of the many illegal Chinese coal mines, Song Jinming (played by Qiang Li) and Tang Zhaoyang (Shuangbao Wang) murder a co-worker. By making the murder looks like an accident, they use their colleague's death to extort money from the mine's management. After having got the money, both guys go to a nearby town and soon meet another potential "victim".
