Chongqing Nankai Zhongxue, literally Chongqing Nankai Middle School (zh-stp|s=重庆南开中学|t=重慶南開中學|p=Ch??ngq??ng N??nkāi Zhōngx??e) is one of the best middle schools in Chongqing, with around 240 thousand kilometers. It is located in Chenjiawan, Shapingba. Image:laonankai.jpg|thumb|right|280px|The overview of old campus Image:laonankainiao.jpg|thumb|right|280px|The birdview of old campus taken in January 1940 In 1936 summer, famous educator Zhang Boling who built Tianjin Nankai Zhongxue came to Chongqing and built a private school, Nanyu Zhongxue (南渝中学). After the Marco Polo Bridge Incident, the Tianjin Nankai Zhongxue was heavilly destroied by Japanese airforce. Therefore lots of teachers and students came to Chongqing, and join into Nanyu Zhongxue. In December 1938, Nanyu Zhongxue finally changed its name to Chongqing Sili Nankai Zhongxue (重庆私立南开中学). Nankai Zhongxue is one of the most famous middle schools in China, especially for its long history, facility and quality of teaching. The rate of entering a university and the number of graduates who enrolling in Peking University and Tsinghua University are the highest among other schools in Chongqing. When the school sold its Nankai Cheng for commercial purpose in 1994, the school had a chance to heavily improve its campus environment. Nowadays, Naikai Zhongxue is often regarded as the most beautiful middle school in Chongqing. As Naikai Zhongxue is located in the centeral area of Shapingba, the disturbing from outside is the main threat. Altought the teaching buildings are far from the school gates, the people came from outside can damage the sports facility and threaten the safe of students. There are heavy traffics near the gates without any signal light, when students leave school and cross the road, some tragics may happen. Moreover, when parents drive their children to (away from) school on Monday (Weekend), the traffic are always heavily interrupted.
