Jinghu Expressway

Wikipedia

The Jinghu Expressway is a major road system of China, linking the capital Beijing in the north to Shanghai on the central coast. It extends over 1000 kilometres in length, and was opened in the early 2000s. It leaves Beijing on the same route as the Jingjintang Expressway, but splits into its own roadway after the city of Tianjin.

The expressway's name, Jinghu 京沪线 is a combination of the two cities' one-character Chinese abbreviations: Jing stands for Beijing, while Hu stands for Shanghai (see Hu Guo).

The trip from Beijing to Shanghai by automobile takes nearly ten hours to complete.
