Kai fang

Kai fang is a Chinese language|Chinese term meaning "opening up." Since the reforms of Deng Xiaoping, China has engaged in a continuous, albeit slow, push toward a reorganization of Chinese society along the lines of liberal economics|liberal economic tenets. A more recent leading figure of this development has been former Premier of the People's Republic of China|Prime Minister Zhu Rongji, who believed China should aim to become a developed economy in 50 years' time.
