The film was adapted by Sidney Buchman (uncredited) and Robert Riskin, and directed by Frank Capra. The Streamline Moderne sets were by Stephen Goosson. It was remake|remade as a musical in 1973, in which Shangri-La was strangely reminiscient of Gilligan's Island.
