A fellow villager, she married Sun when he was 19 and bore him a son, Sun Ke, and two daughters, Sun Yan and Sun Wan. But due mainly to her bound feet, she rarely accompanied him on his revolutionary campaigns. She moved to Macau after Sun divorced her in 1915 to marry Soong Ching-ling.
