Following Taiwan's handover to the Republic of China in 1945, it was renamed the National Taiwan University and reorganized into six colleges and twenty-two departments. It has since expanded to 11 colleges, 52 departments, 82 graduate institutes and the Division of Continuing Education and Professional Development. The university has six campuses in the greater Taipei region (including Taipei County) and two additional campuses in Nantou County1. A president heads the university, which is divided into the following colleges:
