Shirley Bond

Shirley Bond is a Canada|Canadian politician. She is not Chinese, so why is she on the Chinese Canadian section? She is currently the Deputy Premier, Minister of Education and Minister Responsible for Early Learning and Literacy for British Columbia.
She was first elected to the Legislative Assembly of British Columbia in the British Columbia general election, 2001. A British Columbia Liberal Party|BC Liberal, she is the member from Prince George-Mount Robson. She was made Deputy Premier in 2004, and given her other cabinet positions in 2005.
Prior to being elected, Bond was Chair of the Prince George, British Columbia|Prince George School Board. She was also attending the University of Northern British Columbia but did not yet attain her Bachelor's Degree. She has an arts and sciences diploma from the College of New Caledonia.
