St. John's Cathedral (聖約翰座堂) is a cathedral, in Central, Hong Kong|Central, Hong Kong.

Built in 1847, St. John's is a cathedral of the Anglican Communion. It is dedicated to St. John the Evangelist. During World War II the Japanese occupiers turned the cathedral into a Shinto shrine, but it reverted to its original role as a cathedral after the war. Today it is the seat of the Archbishop and Primate (religion)|Primate of The Hong Kong Sheng Kung Hui (香港聖公會) (Hong Kong's Anglican (Episcopal) Church).

The cathedral is a Declared monuments of Hong Kong|declared monument of Hong Kong; today it houses three beautiful stained glass windows, as well as a collection of British military colours, standards and guidons.

The cathedral's weekly services are conducted mainly in English language|English and Cantonese language|Cantonese. Distinguished organists of the cathedral include David Cooper, Paul Griffiths and C F Sangster.

The cathedral is famous for being sited on the only piece of land in Hong Kong whose ownership is freehold, all other non government occupied land in Hong Kong usually being on a primary leasehold of 999, 99 or 75 years from the government.

Transport-The address of the cathedral is Garden Road Hong Kong. Visitors can get to Garden Road by Taking bus no. 12A from the Central Bus Terminal to Garden Road or take the MTR to the Central Station. Exit from Exit K then walk through Hong Kong Bank, across Queen???s Road and up steps to Battery Path.

Entrance Fee-free

Choral Evensong on the 2nd Sunday of every month, sung by the Evensong Choir.
Taize style night prayer on the 3rd and 5th Sundays of the month.
