Swiss Wing (Traditional Chinese:????????????) is the name given to a kind of sweet soya sauced chicken wings provided in the restaurants of Hong Kong. It is marinated in sauce made up of soya sauce, sugar and Chinese wine and spicy|spicies. Although it is named "Swiss", it has nothing to do with Switzerland. Instead, it is an indigenous Chinese food.
The story goes that a Westerner came across the dish "sweetened soya sauce chicken wings" in a restaurant, and asked a Chinese waiter what that was. The waiter, who didn't speak perfect English, introduced the dish as Sweet Wing. The customer misinterpreted sweet as Swiss, and the name was used ever since.
