Amongst his aliases, he called himself Sh?uchāng (寿昌), and had various other pen names, including Uncle Great Wild Goose (伯鸿 pinyin b? h?ng ), Chen Yu, Sh?r?n (漱人), and the Chinese Immortal (汉仙, pinyin H?nxiān ). Tian Han was born in the city of Changsha in Hunan province. He is best known for writing the lyrics of The March of the Volunteers, which is the national anthem of the People's Republic of China.
