Many computer users buy their technology appliances there.

The Hailong Building is one of the more prominent buildings, well-known for its "shops with a shop", where prices can be easily bargained. It mainly deals in Microsoft Windows|Windows-compatible hardware. Apple Macintosh|Macintosh users have an AppleCentre and an Experience Centre.

The word Zhongguancun is very well known in the Chinese tech world, and in China in general.
