Peiying Middle School was founded in 1897 by Rev.Nenry V.Noyes of the American Presbyterian Mission. Since then, Peiying Middle School has been developed at Baihedong with its branch schools in other parts of China and abroad. Originally called Peiying Middle School, it was turned over to the Guangzhou government in 1953 under the name Guangzhou No.8 Middle School. It was renamed Guangzhou Peiying Middle School in 1984. Peiying Middle School has accumulated rich experiences in its 123 years history . In 1992, it was listed in the book ?China?s Famous Schools? written by National Education Committee in 1992. The agrden-like school is situated at Baihedong, Guangzhou Guandong. With a history of over 120 yeas, the school has developed into one of the largest boarding schools. There are four dormitory buildings accommodate over 2000 boarding students. The campus covers over 80000 square meters. There are about 44 classrooms. In recent years, the school has been trying to make all the facilities achieve the advanced level. Various teaching facilities have been renewed and improved. There is a standard track and riled playground, basketball and volleyball grounds and a tennis court. Near the playground is a beautiful gymnasium named Art & Sports Center and an outdoor swimming pool. It has laboratories of physics, chemistry and biology and classrooms for special purposes such as computer, phonology, music, fine arts and multi-media classrooms. Every classroom is equipped with electrical audio-visual aids, and all computers are connected with the campus web. The school library provides thousands of volumes of collected books . Currently, a new E-library lab and a comprehensive building are under construction. The campus is beautiful like a garden, with various kinds of trees. It offers a comfortable and quiet environment for students. The school has a constitution of high quality teachers. There are about 15 staff, some of whom are senor teachers of high academic standing ane rich experience a lot of creative young and middle-aged teachers. They have been working at the forefront of teachong and have formed leading and key teachers in different courses in Baiyun District and Guangzhou City. Teachers push forwow the devolopment of multi medium and network teaching molsing the school lessoes more interesting to the students, encouraging the students to bring forth new ideas, raisong the teaching level and improving the education quality of the school. Many of the teachers have been awarded various prizes by the educational authority some Middle-aged and Young Backbone Teachers, Outstanding teachers and Moral Educators of Guangzhou City, Guangdong Province as well as in the country. In addition, foreign teachers are invited to the school to improve the students? foreign language, and broaden the students? outlook.

Guangzhou Peiying Middle School,is one of the Guangdong first-degree schools(since 1993), an experimental school of Modem Educational Technology(since 1998) and an Experimental Unit of National Electronic Educational Issue.
