Photo Michelle Wing Kwan (關穎珊) (born July 7, 1980) is a Chinese American figure skater. Born in Torrance, California, Kwan has won five World Championships (1996, 1998, 2000, 2001, and 2003), the most by any Ladies' competitor since Carol Heiss in 1956-60. Her seven United States championships(1996 and 1998-2003) are the most by any skater in over half a century. She has also won two Olympic medals - silver in the 1998 Winter Olympics in Nagano, Japan, and bronze in the 2002 Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City, Utah.
