1 Introduction
Paula Tsui

Paula Tsui (born January 1, 1947) is a Cantopop singer in Hong Kong. She has been affiliated with the TVB television station until the mid-1990s but has performed for Asia Television Ltd. in several occasions in 1995.




Tsui's first album, Autumn Night (秋夜) was produced in 1969. Her last major album (not counting compilations, was Tears of Civilization (文明淚), in 1990.

Tsui switched recording companies in several occasions. She signed with a number of local production houses, but was on Sony Records in between 1978 and 1981. From 1986 until she stopped producing new records in 1990, she was with Polygram.

According to Guinness World Records 2003, Tsui's Amway Paula Tsui in Concert 1992 holds the record for the most number of "single event" concerts in a continuous period (43 concerts in 37 days) in Asia.




Tsui was married to controversial Hong Kong radio host and Legislative Council of Hong Kong|legislator Albert Cheng between 1975 and 1979. The marriage was then a secret and not known to the public until the early 1990s. Tsui was then already a renowned singer, while Cheng was still relatively unknown at that time.
